Where Bambi meets Beer & Pretzels
Once again, the German Oktoberfest opens its doors to welcome thousands and thousands of visitors from around the world. And you definitely want to be suitably dressed for this occasion. Since I have a huge passion for rural nostalgia, I asked myself: Why not combine the traditional Dirndl Dress with a romantic Vintage Look?
The Atelier Belle Couture has its own playful interpretation of the traditional costume. Although their new Dirndl collection looks more modern concerning the cutting patterns, the dresses certainly have a retro flare.

The various colors and pattern designs make the Dirndl Dresses a true eye-catcher. The swinging skirts can be worn with a petticoat to pep up the outfit. And there you have it – a Petticoat Dirndl Dress that makes every heart of us vintage lovers beat faster.
Some of the dresses can be combined with a traditional-looking white blouse which creates a more originally look of the costume.
The collection also includes dresses that can be laced up in order to define the upper body. But, if you’re planning to drink several ‘Maß’ of beer, you should probably go with a model that has its fabric (100% cotton) gathered in the back, which makes it more elastic.
Another feature of the Belle Couture Dirndl collection is the apron with its special pattern design. You can choose between plain colors, polkadots and flowers. Those of you who like it a little fancier, should check out the designs with patterns of cute cats, owls and even Bambi.

Although I couldn’t make it to the Oktoberfest in Munich, I will be ready to go to any beer garden in my hometown.

Bambi trifft auf Bierkrug
Es ist mal wieder Wiesn-Zeit. Das Oktoberfest läutet den Herbstbeginn mit reichlich Bier, Bretzeln und Blasmusik ein. Doch ist diese Festlichkeit auch ein geeigneter Ort für Retro-Liebhaber? Die Antwort lautet JA. Und wie? Ganz einfach – mit einer Portion Vintage-Romantik beim Dirndl-Kauf.
Bei einem Wiesn-Besuch darf das Dirndl nicht fehlen, dessen Erscheinungsbild von der traditionellen alpenländlichen Trachtenmode geprägt wurde. Das populäre Kleidungsstück besteht meistens aus den Komponenten Bluse, Kleid und Schürze. Dabei ist besonders wichtig, wo die Schleife der Schürze gebunden wird: Auf der rechten Seite signalisiert die Schleife, dass die Trägerin vergeben ist, wohingegen Mädchen, die ihre Schleife auf der linken Seite binden, noch zu haben sind. Sitzt die Schleife vorne, ist die Trägerin Jungfrau und wird sie hinten gebunden, ist die Trägerin Witwe.
Ich beende den Geschichtsunterricht und möchte euch die neue Dirndl-Kollektion aus dem Atelier Belle Couture vorstellen. Das Team rund um Designerin Bethina Lellig interpretiert die traditionelle Tracht auf eine moderne und verspielte Art. Dennoch bleiben die Dirndl-Kleider dem romantischen Vintage-Look, dem sich das Atelier verschrieben hat, treu. Außerdem passt unter jeden Tellerrock ein Petticoat, der das Wiesn-Outfit für eine Zeitreise in die 50er Jahre tauglich macht.

Die Petticoat-Dirndl sind bunt und sie überraschen mit auffallenden Mustern. Neben den bewährten Polkadots finden sich Blumen, Katzen, Eulen und Bambis auf den liebevoll designten Schürzen wieder.
Manche Dirndl-Modelle weisen eine Schnürung am Rücken vor, sodass sie am Oberkörper der Trägerin eng definierend anliegen können. Wenn ihr jedoch plant, einige Maß Bier zu trinken, solltet ihr euch vorzugsweise für ein Modell mit gerafftem Stoff (bestehend aus 100 % Baumwolle) entscheiden. Diese sind elastischer und bieten mehr Spielraum im Rückenbereich.
Die Dirndl werden nach Maß gefertigt, sodass ihr sicher gehen könnt, dass das Kleid für euren Wiesn-Besuch perfekt sitzt.
Obwohl ich es leider nicht auf das Münchner Oktoberfest schaffen werde, bin ich mit meinem Dirndl aus dem Atelier Belle Couture bestens für einen Auftritt im heimischen Biergarten ausgestattet.
