Pool Party & Poppy Seeds
For many weeks now, I’ve been waiting for the summer time to arrive in Germany. Finally, when a much-desired package from the US arrived, the sun came out and the temperature was rising.
I was joyful when I unpacked my new bathing suits by Vedette Shapewear coming from the other side of ‘the big pond’. The special thing about these suits is that there are body shaping. So far, I didn’t own a lot of shapewear, so I was very curious about the shape and the comfort of the swimsuits. I couldn’t spot any difference between the Vedette bathing suits and my usual swimwear at first glance, but I did notice the extra-firm fabric of the shapewear. It took a little more time to put them on because the fabric is very dense. After all, being tight fitting is the purpose of shapewear :)
But when the part of getting dressed was done, I didn’t feel cramped at all. On the contrary, I felt very comfortable and confident. The bathing suits fit well and accentuated my curves in the best way.
The Vedette swimwear isn’t designed to just squeeze the body, but to support the natural body shape. The suits slim the waistline and lift the bust at the same time. This way, they form a nice hour glass figure.
I also like the appearance of the swimwear – they have a lovely vintage look with a modern touch – and I wouldn’t be able to tell that they are shapewear.
When I was shopping for the bathing suits in the Vedette Onlineshop, I noticed the detailed size charts. To the shop owners, it is very important to take all the information about the body into account in order to find the perfect garment.

My first choice for photographing my new swimwear by Vedette Shapewear was a pool area. After work, I packed my bag to go for a swim with my photographer Reiner Eisenbeis. On the way to the pool, we drove by a beautiful wild field of poppies in France and we decided to start our photoshoot there. I have to admit that it isn’t easy to slip into the bathing suits when you are in a car seat, but I’m pretty well trained to change clothes in almost any location, haha.

Although Reiner and I were the only visitors at the pool after closing hours, I had a lot of laughs jumping into the cool water. I’m glad that the summer time is here at least!

Der Sprung ins kalte Nass
In diesem Jahr waren meine Besuche in Freibädern und an Badeseen selten, denn der Sommer ließ auf sich warten. Doch pünktlich zur Ankunft eines ganz besonderen Päckchens aus den USA setzte sich die Sonne durch und ließ das Thermometer steigen.
Ich war begeistert als ich meine neuen Badeanzüge aus dem Hause Vedette auspackte. Die Schnitte und das Design erinnerten mich an die 50er Jahre. Das Besondere an den Badeanzügen ist, dass es sich dabei um Shapewear handelt. Bisher besitze ich noch recht wenige Kleidungsstücke, die sehr figur-formend sind, daher war meine Neugierde groß. Auf den ersten Blick konnte ich jedoch keinen Unterschied zwischen den Vedette Badeanzügen und meiner Schwimmkleidung, die ich bereits besitze, erkennen. Das Einzige, was mir sofort auffiel, war der äußerst feste Stoff der neuen Anzüge. Der große Unterschied ergab sich dann beim Anprobieren. Aufgrund des unflexiblen Stoffes dauerte es eine ganze Weile, bis ich in einen der Badeanzüge geschlüpft war. Doch das anfängliche Gefühl, eingeengt zu sein, verflüchtigte sich schnell und ich fühlte mich sehr wohl. Die Badeanzüge sitzen bequem und sicher wie eine zweite Haut. Gleichzeitig zaubern sie eine wundervolle „Sanduhr“-Figur. Zuerst dachte ich, dass diese Badeanzüge schlichtweg alles wegquetschen, doch in Wirklichkeit schmälern sie den Taillenumfang und stützen gleichzeitig das Dekolleté, was sehr figur-schmeichelnd wirkt.
Neben der Form gefallen mir auch die Looks der Badeanzüge. Sie wirken zwar modern, aber Schnitt, Farben und Applikationen (wie die Raffungen und die kleine Blume auf dem Alexandra Badeanzug) erinnern an die älteren Modelle.
Als ich den Vedette Onlineshop durchstöberte, stieß ich auf die detaillierten Größentabellen. Auch im Gespräch mit den Mitarbeitern wurde deutlich, wie wichtig es ist, möglichst viele Informationen über den eigenen Körper preiszugeben, um den perfekten Badeanzug zu finden.
Ich habe mich für den Bettie Slimming Badeanzug und den Alexandra Badeanzug entschieden:
Eine Shooting-Location für meine neuen Errungenschaften war schnell gefunden. Reiner Eisenbeis und ich stürmten nach Feierabend das Freibad. Auf unserem Weg kamen wir an einem wunderschönen wilden Mohnfeld in Frankreich vorbei und entschieden uns, unser Fotoshooting dort zu beginnen. Zugegeben, es war eine kleine Herausforderung, mich im Auto in den Bettie Badeanzug zu zwängen, aber es war die Mühe wert :)
